Motorway Driving Lessons
Motorway Driving Lessons were allowed in June 2018 by the DVSA; learner drivers have been authorised to drive on motorways at the same time as a part of driving lessons. To be allowed to drive on a motorway, the driver must be accompanied by a qualified driving instructor. On the other hand, anxiety over going on a motorway is more widespread than most folks understand. Motorway Driving training is meant to empower you and eliminate the obstacles of motorway anxiety as well as accompanying concerns, allowing you to proceed with confidence.
Driving Lessons 4All provides DVSA registered advanced driving instructors with extensive experience. You can book with a fully trained instructor for Motorway Driving Lessons to boost your confidence!
FAQs
They certainly can! Since June 2018, trainee drivers in England, Scotland, and Wales have been permitted to take lessons on the motorway.
Absolutely. Even if you passed your exam years ago, you could take additional motorway lessons if you believe they are necessary.
Remember to stay to the left unless you’re overtaking. There is no such thing as a “fast lane”; only the left and overtaking lanes exist. The left lane is your greatest buddy unless the highway filters traffic, depending on your trip.
It’s important to remember that middle-lane hogging is illegal and can result in a £100 fine and three points on your licence. In addition, it has been classified as reckless driving since 2013. However, overtaking a line of cars is not considered middle-lane hogging.
One of the essential things to remember is to be calm. Of course, it’s sometimes easier said than done, but being calm on the motorway is critical. Because traffic is frequently flowing quickly and the route may be congested, you must maintain concentration.
You’ve probably got some dual carriageway experience before venturing onto the highway for the first time. This should help you in the long run. But, of course, you’ll also have your instructor’s help and direction.
It’s mostly 70 mph, although a few sections are at 50 mph. These are often enforced using average speed cameras. Always pay attention to highway signage, so you don’t get caught off guard.
In addition, if there is congestion or an accident on the highway, a different restriction may be applied. So, once again, keep an eye on the indicators and slow down properly.
When driving rapidly, judging correct braking distances might be difficult. However, there are several tactics you can use. First, you should be at least two seconds behind the car in front of you. Time two seconds by telling yourself, ‘Only a fool breaches the two-second rule.’ Or any other two-second sentence you choose.
